Avante Security and Aztech Associates Reach Agreement
 to Integrate Energy Management Systems

Ø        Energy Management Solution enhanced by bringing together two leading-edge made-in-Ontario technologies

TORONTO, April 21, 2009Avante Security Corp. (TSXV: ASY) (“Avante”) and Aztech Associates Inc. (“Aztech”) are pleased to announce they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Under the terms of the agreement, Avante and Aztech will integrate their respective exclusive technologies into current product lines to offer a comprehensive home automation and energy management solution. Aztech specializes in conservation and demand management accessories for the utilities industry and remote monitoring and control, utilizing terrestrial and satellite wireless systems, which can integrate seamlessly with major meter manufacturers' devices for In-Home Displays (IHD). Under the agreement, both Avante and Aztech are committed to develop a portable in-home display for the Avante smartboxx Energy Manager solution.

“This agreement brings two leading-edge technologies together to develop a made-in-Ontario energy management solution that is ground-breaking in the industry,” said Emmanuel Mounouchos, President and CEO. “Avante has been searching for a reliable in-home display option for some time to complement its Avante smartboxx platform, and the Aztech IHD meets our specific requirements.”

“We are very excited to partner with Avante to extend the Aztech In-Home Display solution to our utility partner base,” added Geoff Salter, CEO of Aztech. “We believe the Avante smartboxx and the Energy Manager technology provides our utility partner with an attractive electricity and natural gas management solution.”

The Avante smartboxx family of technologies is the latest advance in true, two-way, interactive wireless automation.  The Avante smartboxx platform is a significant technology upgrade to its currently deployed patent-pending 724Smart WIP™. This latest release includes expanded functionality with a full range of extended automation and energy management features. The Avante smartboxx “anywhere, anytime” remote monitoring and control technology hardware uses GSM, SMS and GPRS networks to interact and communicate.

The Avante smartboxx family of technologies includes: the Energy Manager, Server Room Protection Manager, Family Help Button, and Flood Protector, along with the complete Home Manager Solution.  Mobile devices interact with energy infrastructure such as electricity, gas and water metering, HVAC equipment controls, and electric load management.  Your home is automatically placed in energy conservation mode when you activate your security system.

The Aztech In-Home Display communicates wirelessly with smart meters, and combines the novel use of light patterns and graphical displays to provide homeowners with electricity usage and cost information to better manage their utility consumption. This direct and immediate feedback is imperative to raising energy awareness, empowering families to conserve energy, save money and protect the environment.
