Avante Invited to Participate in Residential Gateway Energy Design
August 10, 2009
Selected as Finalist for Canadian Business Magazine's Clean 15 CleanTech Competition from over 700 Submissions
August 10, 2009 – Avante Security Corp. (TSXV: ASY) (“Avante” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has been invited by the Technical Advisory Committee of the California Energy Commission to participate in the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) funded investigation into the development of the Residential Energy Gateway of the future. This research is being undertaken in partnership with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, UC Berkeley, California State University at Sacramento, California’s electric utilities and other electric energy entities within the state of California.
Avante, the sole wireless-based technology participant, has been recognized by the Committee for its innovative and non-intrusive approach to residential and small commercial energy management. Avante is participating along with many of the largest home energy management companies, including Intel, Microsoft and GE, as part of this research and reference design.
“We are excited to be part of the ground floor design process for the development of a standard for the Residential Energy Gateway for home energy management,” said Emmanuel Mounouchos, President and CEO. “Based on our many years of experience with the deployment of the wireless smartboxx gateway for residential and commercial automation and security with its innovative, true two-way communication, Avante has much to contribute to the development of the Residential Energy Gateway.”
“Avante’s participation in the PIER investigation and our recent selection from over 700 submissions as one of the 15 finalists for the Canadian Business Magazine and Drayton Weissenfels’ Clean 15 CleanTech competition, confirms that the Avante smartboxx energy management solution is the innovative choice for energy management and conservation,” continued Mr. Mounouchos.
Avante smartboxx energy management technologies include: the Home Energy Manager (remote, wireless temperature control), Home Energy Manager Plus (remote wireless temperature control with home automation), and economical one-way or two-way (GMS) demand response solutions. The smartboxx interacts with energy infrastructure such as electricity, gas and water metering, HVAC equipment controls and complete electric load management.
